It's your first time, Awwwww!
Let me put your mind at ease right from the start—I've performed countless waxing sessions, so there's absolutely nothing to be self-conscious about. Trust me, you're in good hands.
Scheduling Your Waxing Appointment:
Please don't book your wax right before a big event, whether it's a vacation, wedding, or sunbathing session. Give your skin a grace period of 3-4 days post-wax to settle down.
As for hair length, think 'the longer, the better.' Ideally, your hair should be between ¼ and ½ inch long for optimal waxing conditions.
Pain Expectations:
It's true, your first wax might pinch a bit more since it's an unfamiliar sensation, especially if your hair is coarse. But don't worry, with regular sessions every 3-5 weeks, any discomfort will typically diminish over time. Remember, the initial appointment may take a little longer, too.
Preparing for Your First Waxing:
Steer clear of tanning and shaving prior to your appointment. And definitely don't wax on irritated, inflamed, cut, or sunburned skin.
An hour before your session, consider taking some Ibuprofen to ease potential discomfort.
Shower before coming in, and dress in loose-fitting clothes—think yoga or sweatpants—that you won't fret about getting a little wax on.
During Your Waxing Session:
The process can take around 30 minutes, with follow-up visits possibly as quick as 15 minutes, depending on the tenacity of your hair.
I'll provide you with a towel for modesty until we begin. Feel free to discuss with me the style you're aiming for—be it French, Brazilian, Hollywood, or anything in between.
When it's time to start, I'll guide you on how to position yourself. Just relax, breathe, and know that I'll be there to walk you through each step.
Post-wax, I might do a bit of tweezing to catch any strays.
After Your Waxing Session:
It's completely normal for the area to be a bit tender, red, or irritated for a short while after waxing.
Keep the waxed area clean, avoiding heat and friction for the next 24 to 48 hours.
After the initial 48 hours, to prevent ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate the area with a suitable scrub or exfoliating tool.
Stay out of the sun and skip tanning for the first 24-48 hours to protect your skin and ensure an even tone.
You can expect your smooth results to last between 3-5 weeks, varying by individual. For the best outcomes, stick to a regular waxing schedule, returning when the hairs have reached at least 2 mm in length.

How to prepare for Wax by Nina
When it comes to the perfect hair length for waxing, think of it this way: longer locks yield better blocks. That's right, we want those hairs long enough so the wax can cozy up and cling to them—ideally, they should be at least ¼ inch to ½ inch in length, about as long as a grain of rice. This ensures that when we wax, we're not just breaking the hair but removing it from the root for that silky-smooth finish.
Before you come in for your session, let's talk no-nos. Tanning, shaving, or any DIY trimming are all out of the question. We want your hair in its most natural state for the wax to work its magic.
And if you're wondering about areas to avoid, here's the deal: if your skin is feeling irritated, inflamed, has cuts, or is sporting a fresh sunburn, let's give it some time to heal. Healthy skin equals happy waxing.
Now, should you wax or tan first? Always wax first to ensure a clean canvas, then go for that golden glow. This way, your tan will be as flawless as your wax.

What to expect after Wax by Nina
The staying power of a wax really comes down to your unique hair growth cycle and how you keep up with your waxing schedule. On average, you can expect that smooth, hair-free feeling to last between 3 to 5 weeks.
After your wax, think of your skin as a delicate flower—it needs a little time to settle. So for the next 24 to 48 hours, treat it gently by keeping it clean and steering clear of any heat or friction.
As for sunbathing, give your skin a brief vacation from the rays. Hold off on soaking up the sun for 24 to 48 hours post-wax to ensure your skin's health and to maintain an even tone.
Now, when it comes to booking your next session, consistency is key for maintaining that sleek look. I recommend returning every 3 to 5 weeks, depending on how your skin and hair respond. Just make sure those hairs are at least 2 mm long so we can effectively whisk them away.
